Bacon and Banana Kebabs

Serve as an entrée or as an accompaniment to a main meal

  • 6 firm ripe bananas
  • 6 large rashers bacon
  • 6 wooden barbecue skewers
  1. Remove the bacon rind and cut each rasher into four pieces.
  2. Peel the bananas and cut each into four pieces.
  3. Wrap a piece of bacon around each piece of banana.
  4. Thread the pieces onto skewers.
  5. Barbecue or grill the kebabs until the bacon is crisp, turning them occasionally.
The variation on this recipe are numerous: try adding pineapple pieces, water chestnuts, scallops or onions.
