French Toast

A breakfast dish made from bread dipped in an egg and milk mixture and then fried in butter.  French toast maybe  served with jam, sugar, syrup or fruits like kiwi or berries.  

What you need:
2 eggs
1 cup milk
4 thick slices of bread
40 g  butter
cinnamon and sugar to serve


1. Break the eggs into a wide shallow dish and add the milk. 
Beat with fork until well mixed.

2. Cut the bread slices in half diagonally.

3. Melt half the butter in a frying pan, when the butter begins to bubble,quickly dip a piece of bread into the egg mixture,
let the excess run off then place it in the pan.

3. Cook for 1-2 minutes, when the underside is golden, turn the bread over and cook the other side.

4. Transfer the french toast to a plate and cover it with foil, to keep it hot.  Add more butter to the pan as necessary and cook the remaining bread.

5. Serve and sprinkled lightly with cinnamon and sugar.
