Soy Milk

Soya Milk is a non-animal derived milk often used as a substitute for other milks by vegans and by those allergic to any form of dairy milk.

It is made from pulverized soya beans, is suitable for both cooking and drinking and is used to make yogurt cream and cheese.

Soya milk is interchangeable with cow’s milk although it has a slightly thicker consistency and a nutty flavor that is quite different. It also tends to curdle in very hot tea or coffee. Some soya milk has added sugar, so it is advisable to check the label before buying.

Chocolate and fruit flavoured soya milk and versions fortified with extra vitamins and calcium are widely available in health food shops and larger supermarkets.
